Screen Firmware Updates
Latest Version: 1.0.0
Download: monitorHMI.tft (rename it to firmware.tft before copying)
The screen and the mainboard take different files, into different slots.
| Update | File | Goes into |
|---|---|---|
| Screen | firmware.tft | the screen’s card slot |
| Mainboard | monitor.bin | the mainboard’s card slot |
Putting the right file in the wrong slot simply does nothing, so it is safe, but it is the easiest mistake to make.
Update Instructions
Download the firmware
monitorHMI.tft, then rename it to firmware.tft. It is about 2 MB, which is normal, since a TFT file carries
every image and font the interface uses.
Prepare the SD card
Copy firmware.tft to the root of the card, formatted FAT32.
Nothing else should be on the card. The screen scans for a TFT file at boot, so a second one left over from an older update makes the result unpredictable.
Power off
Remove power from the device.
Insert the SD card
Into the screen’s slot, not the mainboard’s.
Power on
Flashing starts automatically. Wait for the success message.
Clean up
Unplug power and remove the SD card.
Finalize
Plug power back in and put the screen back into its casing.
Never remove power during flashing. Unlike the mainboard bootloader, the screen has no validate-before-erase step, so an interrupted screen flash can leave it needing a retry from a blank state.
